Privacy Policy

SmokeLog AI is built with privacy in mind. Here's a plain-language explanation of how your data is handled.

What we collect

• Account info — your name and email address, used for login
• Smoke log entries — type, timestamp, duration, and notes you enter
• Assessment scores — results from self-assessments (FTND, CUDIT-R)

We don't collect anything you don't explicitly provide.

How it's stored

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on DigitalOcean. All connections are encrypted in transit (TLS). Passwords are hashed — we never store them in plain text.

AI analysis

When you use the AI insights feature, your smoking data and assessment scores are sent to the Anthropic API (Claude) for analysis. This data is processed in real time to generate your report and is not used to train AI models. You can use SmokeLog AI without ever triggering the AI feature.

Third parties

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. The only external services that receive your data are:

• DigitalOcean — database and application hosting
• Anthropic — AI analysis (only when you request it)

Analytics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool. Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personal information. It tells us aggregate page-view counts — nothing more.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. This permanently removes your account and all associated data (log entries, assessment scores, everything). There is no recovery once deleted.
